The Capital Ringers had their first rehearsal in their new digs, at Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford. Bay2Bay Ringers, the beginner-intermediate group, will call Avenue home too.
The move came after about five years of ringing out of Conley’s United Methodist Church. Before moving to Conley’s, near Lewes, the ensemble and all its gear were headquartered in Dover.
Avenue has enthusiastically rolled out the welcome mat to both groups.
“Capital Ringers is pleased to have found a new home at Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford, Delaware, where our Artistic Director Kevin Chamberlain serves as Pastor of Music and Worship,” said Capital Ringers Inc. President John Smeallie. “We are grateful to the church’s Trustees for welcoming us and look forward to a musical partnership that will continue to benefit the communities that we serve.
“As we make this transition, we also thank Conley’s United Methodist Church for hosting the Capital Ringers over many years. We share their joy in an expanding youth program that required additional space.”
The move came just in time for the advanced ringing ensemble to begin rehearsals for “Springtime in Paris.” They started January 21, and the first performance will be April 20. For more information on dates, venues and tickets, go to our spring show’s landing page.
