Bay2Bay Ringers is our beginner and intermediate handbell group. The group serves as a community outreach handbell ensemble of Capital Ringers Inc. Playing with Bay2Bay is good preparation toward a position in the auditioned Capital Ringers Ensemble. Bay2Bay Ringers prepare a themed presentation of six to eight songs, with demonstration to the audience what is involved with ringing handbells and handchimes. The group practices at Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford.
In the fall of 2023, the group presented familiar Italian songs to an Italian-American audience, and more themed performances are planned. Like many volunteer groups, Bay2Bay Ringers fizzled out during the pandemic but is now operating at full capacity.
Judy Moore, the director, has worked with bell choirs for more than fifty years. She has a Masters degree in Music from Westminster Choir College. Her musical experience is in education and music ministry in Illinois, Colorado and Delaware. She was conductor of the Delaware Choral Society in Dover and has rung with the Capital Ringers for six years. She currently is retired and living in Rehoboth Beach. She very much enjoys the challenge and enthusiasm of helping people who are curious about bells figure out how to achieve their beautiful sound.
