Capital Ringers seek artistic director

The Capital Ringers’ founder and artistic director, Linda Simms, is retiring after 18 years. The organization is seeking a new leader.

Capital Ringers Inc. (CRI) is a nonprofit community organization based in Lewes. Delaware. CRI manages the advanced community handbell group, Capital Ringers Ensemble (CRE) and owns the largest set of handbells and handchimes on the Delmarva Peninsula.

CRE performs multiple concerts per season (Spring and Winter) under the direction of the Artistic Director, featuring challenging handbell music in a variety of genres.

The Artistic Director directs the Capital Ringers Ensemble and is responsible for all preparation and planning necessary for successful rehearsals and performances. The Artistic Director is also a member of the CRI Board of Directors.

This position begins January 1, 2023; however, the successful candidate may begin as Artistic Director Designate in August 2022, working with the current Artistic Director for leadership development and transition.

Applicants should have at least three years’ experience in conducting a musical ensemble.

Artistic Director (part-time contractual position: 20 hours per month)

Contracting fee starting at $800/month (higher based on qualifications)
